The transformer film from 1986 is a very 80's themed film.
By 80's themed film i am refering to the films animation style that is vey similar to other animations of the time like He man and the origional thunder cat. This animation style uses very simple animated charaters over a painted still backgrounds.
The film has been recived as big advertisment as the transformer idae is based off the hasbro toys. Compared to modern day shows build around a toy. The show does not hold a candle. Today t.v. shows have a much much more engaging story .
