Hungary / USA
George Pal while he was working in Hollywood produced and directed the film Tom Thumb that used big sets, stop motion animation and Super imposition to create the appearance of Tom small size compared to the world around him. In my opinion this was very impressive especially since it was done with out the use of CGI which has become a staple in creating these types of effects today and example of this is the Jack black version of Gulliver's travels.
Japan
Taiji Yabusshita was the creator of the first full length animate film in colour.
The Film Legend of the White Snake (1958).
This typle of film was produced faster than Western animated films and were based more on spectacles and special effects than character animation.
This style of animation is regarded as the roots of anime.
The First show to truly be called anime was Astro Boy by Osamu Tezuka.
Astro Boy was created in 1952 as a manga and later developed into a tv series in 1963.
China did some stuff was not very interesting to cover.
there was a dude called Wan Laiming made some stuff one of those things was Hacoc in Heaven. had something to do with Sun Wu Kong and journey to the west.
Canada
A Guy called Norman McLaren made a movie that won an Oscar as a Documentary ( probably for being the first recorded incident of a Canadian being mean and violent.) the film had many types of effects was cool to watch wish we saw the more violent USA release version instead of the Less violent Canadian release version.
overall Canada made a bad ass film two thumbs up.
Croatia
firstly need to say the guy who made this film was clearly on a vision quest when he came up with the idea. its like the film Office space meets Dazed and confused.
The film is called Samac which means Alone, it was made in 1958.
